On December 28th, 2023, Gypsy-Rose Blanchard, who killed her mother in 2015 due to parental abuse for most of her life, was released from prison after serving more than 8 years for second-degree murder. Marc Feldman, an international expert on factitious disorders, said this was the first case he knew of in which an abused child killed an abusive parent. This particular post was going to be a part 3 to the two previous posts, but as I was in the process of writing it, it became a lot more than just about a woman’s life postpartum. Therefore, here, we cover a woman’s life and everything that can break down when she doesn’t take care of herself due to her career ambition – as told by former child star, Hayden Panettiere.

This is a continuation of the previous post, so if you haven’t read it, read that one first. It was very tough to write. For a while, I even contemplated on scrapping it and not posting it at all. But I also felt I owed it to this blog and to my readers to show even my most vulnerable state of mind. It’d be hypocritical of me to only write about things that only affected me in the past. The news of my (former) friend hit me hard, and here, I tell you everything EVERYONE, not just new mothers, need to know about postpartum psychosis.

I started the year 2024 off right. But a few days later, tragedy struck. I heard the worst news about someone who was my closest friend for many years, and someone I was just about ready to reconnect with. So it got me thinking about the DO’s and the DON’Ts for new mothers postpartum. I wish I followed some of my own advice during that first year postpartum. But here I am telling you to be better than me.

The very last post of 2023 was all about Barbie and the #WomenSupportingWomen social media movement. And just like I mentioned in the previous blog, sexism isn’t the only problem in our society that needs attention. Homophobia, for one, is another great example of that stigma. I’d been thinking about that a lot, actually. It’s especially true since I’m a bisexual woman. I keep asking myself whether or not my life would be any different if I were to end up with a woman. My previous post about Matthew Perry’s death was a tough one to write, but it made me think of Brooke Shields’ recent revaluation – she suffered a seizure in September. Her opening up about that day and how those she was with handled the situation made me think of two other people who recently opened p about their loved ones struggling with the seizure disorder. THEIR words proved one thing: the struggles of the loved ones of those suffering seizures aren’t talked about enough. This blog post is a start!

You can call me the ultimate ‘Friends’ fan. I used to watch the show religiously when it initially aired. It was a show that taught me English, and it was a show that taught me about friendships and I didn’t have any. To no surprise, it was very shocking when Matthew Perry passed away on October 28th, and his death got me thinking of what his character, Chandler Bing, means to me.
