Wendy Williams: An In-Depth Analysis Of How She And So Many Others With Disabilities Are Failed By The System That’s Supposed To Protect Them – And How It’s More Than Just A Women’s Issue

Wendy Williams was one of the greatest television personalities of our generation. She was known for her unfiltered voice of reason. She was funny. She was witty. And she was unstoppable. That was until her world came crashing down in 2022. After going through severe health battles that were chronicled publicly through her hosting her daytime syndicated show since at least 2017, and her asking for a legal guardian, Williams was placed under a conservatorship, which she’s been fighting ever since alongside her family. Luckily, Williams has a good family by her side. They, particularly her niece, have been very vocal on insisting that Williams is mentally capable, contradicting claims made by her current conservator, Sabrina Morrissey. The question was never whether or not she needed a guardian or not, but rather WHO was appointed to be her guardian. In January, Williams tearfully proclaimed, ‘I am not cognitively impaired but I feel like I am in prison. I’m in this place with people who are in their nineties and their eighties and their seventies… These people, there’s something wrong with these people here on this floor.
