It’s been a busy time for Camila Mendes since her stint on ‘Riverdale’ ended. She’s since starred in movies like ‘Do Revenge’, ‘Uploaded’, and ‘Música’. I watched all three, and I can honestly say that all three were good. They had their own sense of charm. But it’s her roles in ‘Uploaded’ and ‘Música’, and the drastic differences in the characters and how they handled themselves in their relationships with not the strongest of men that really caught my eye. They both represent the drastic differences in how strong women can become emotionally invested in weak men, and how that can affect them in the long run. There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding the drastic differences in how Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have been promoting their movie, ‘It Ends With Us’. Lively, on her part, is promoting it as a romantic comedy and maintains that her character, Lily Bloom, isn’t defined by the domestic abuse she’d endured at the hands of Ryle, played by Baldoni. Her take on Lily hasn’t been received well by the public, specifically by those who are domestic violence survivors. But is she ACTUALLY wrong to say all this? With the release of the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel, ‘It Ends With Us’, all people are talking about is Blake Lively’s mean girl tactics, her and Hoover’s tone deaf promotional tour, and her rumored feud with director and co-star, Justin Baldoni. The two have been doing two separate promotional tours for the film, and it feels as though they had two totally different films come out. But Baldoni is the only one who’s doing his job right in bringing advocacy and awareness to the movie’s subject matter. But it’s not just an act for the film. He’s always been an activist for important matters such as disability, illness, sexual assault, and more. His 2018 TED TALK presentation was all about what it is that really makes a man man enough, and it got me thinking of my own son’s future. Let’s discuss…

‘It Ends With Us’ is a new movie starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. The two actors were also heavily involved in making the film come to life. Lively produced. Baldoni directed. The movie is an adaptation of the book of the same name by Colleen Hoover. She initially wrote the book to understand her mother, as to why she didn’t leave her abusive father. The intention was pure in creating such art, but greed took over and turned it into a Barbie fest promo-mania. Hoover and Lively were on the same page. Baldni, on the other hand, went on an entirely different path to promote the film. Instead of tagging it as a typical girly rom-com movie, he tagged it as a movie for all the Lily Blooms. Vanessa Hudgens is a force to be reckoned with. She’s a singer, actress, businesswoman, a wife, and a new mother. She’s been working since she was 9 years old, and her career is thriving. She got her big break in 2006’s ‘High School Musical’, and her filmography is growing without any sight of stopping. But instead of being recognized for her talent and work ethic, the public has concentrated more on invading her privacy and personal life. During her Disney days, as a 10 year old young girl, she’d already been sexualized. But that’s not the worst thing that ever happened to her, according to Thorne herself. Between the ages of 6 and 14, she’d been sexually abused by someone who she and her family thought of as practically one of their own. THAT was the worst thing that happened to her. Since opening up about her trauma, she heavily spoke about how that part of her life affected her entire being.

Cameron Boyce was a talented young actor who was taken from us too soon. He passed away at the of 20 in 2019 after suffering a fatal seizure in his sleep. His death shocked the world, especially those that struggle with epilepsy themselves. Throughout his life, Boyce kept his diagnosis ultra private, with only his family and two friends knowing anything of it. It was only after his 2019 death that it became public knowledge. Shortly following his death, Boyce’s parents, Libby and Victor, created a foundation in their son’s name, The Cameron Boyce Foundation, aiming to end gun violence and bring awareness to epilepsy. Boyce’s death felt personal to me, and it shaped my own struggles with epilepsy and seizures. So I want to tell you about it. Let’s discuss…

It’s been almost a decade since Sabrina Carpenter and Sofia Carson starred in the Disney Channel movie, ‘Adventures In Babysitting’, a remake of the 1987 classic. Even though it’s technically a kids’ movie, adults can enjoy it too. Not only that, but adults can actually learn something from it, particularly those that work in the Human Resources industry. It explains why job seekers, those that are in the arts in this case, have such a hard time getting employed. Adrienne Bailon has broken grounds throughout her career. She became the first Latina woman to host her own daytime talkshow when she joined ‘The Real’ in 2013. It was a position she held until 2022. Also in 2022, she became a first-time mom to son Ever James. Having him wasn’t an easy ride, and her struggles with infertility was something Bailon was open about throughout her time on the show. I resonated with her as I went through the exact same thing at the exact same time with her. I was then recently asked to guide a friend of a friend through my IVF journey, just like Bailon did for me through a screen.
