The very last post of 2023 was all about Barbie and the #WomenSupportingWomen social media movement. And just like I mentioned in the previous blog, sexism isn’t the only problem in our society that needs attention. Homophobia, for one, is another great example of that stigma. I’d been thinking about that a lot, actually. It’s especially true since I’m a bisexual woman. I keep asking myself whether or not my life would be any different if I were to end up with a woman. Here, I tell you how it’s been proven for decades that it wouldn’t be.

‘BARBIE’ – HOW THE MOVIE REPRESENTED SOCIAL MEDIA’S #WOMENSUPPORTINGWOMEN MOVEMENT
To end the year 2023, I wanted to write about the biggest movie of the year – ‘Barbie’. Moreover, I wanted to analyze how the movie represented the real life of a woman, and how the #WomenSupportingWomen social media movement holds true, in business and in life.
OUR LOVED ONES: THE FORGOTTEN ONES IN OUR STRUGGLE WITH A SEIZURE DISORDER
My previous post about Matthew Perry’s death was a tough one to write, but it made me think of Brooke Shields’ recent revaluation – she suffered a seizure in September. Her opening up about that day and how those she was with handled the situation made me think of two other people who recently opened p about their loved ones struggling with the seizure disorder. THEIR words proved one thing: the struggles of the loved ones of those suffering seizures aren’t talked about enough. This blog post is a start!
WHAT MATTHEW PERRY’S CHANDLER BING CAN TEACH US ABOUT LIFE AND STARTING OVER
You can call me the ultimate ‘Friends’ fan. I used to watch the show religiously when it initially aired. It was a show that taught me English, and it was a show that taught me about friendships and I didn’t have any. To no surprise, it was very shocking when Matthew Perry passed away on October 28th, and his death got me thinking of what his character, Chandler Bing, means to me.
THE IMPORTANCE OF A WOMAN HAVING A SUPPORTIVE PARTNER AFTER THE BIRTH OF HER CHILD AND ONWARD
And in just a blink of an eye, my son just turned a year old, and I now officially have a toddler! I love my son with my entire being, but that’s not to say that this past year wasn’t filled with ups and downs. Most people talk about the ups of having a child, so I wanted to tell you about the downs, specifically the first year of a child’s life.
IS SOCIAL MEDIA THE REAL CAUSE FOR SOMEONE TO LOSE OUT ON PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES?
The reunion show of ‘Selling Sunset’ had Nicole in hot water for her recent social media activity. Luckily for her, it didn’t affect her professionally; only that her co-workers hate her even more and the company culture at the real estate agency is… not the best. But this entire ordeal got me thinking a lot about how OUR social media activity can affect our professional lives. So I ask the question, is social media the real make-it-or-break-it?
HOW TO SUPPORT A WOMAN (AND A MAN) WHO’S SUFFERED A PREGNANCY LOSS IN LIFE AND IN WORK
Pregnancy loss is still such a taboo topic even though so many women go through it. In reality, 1 in 4 women go through it. If you’re one of them, just know you’re not alone. I recently watched the latest season of ‘Selling Sunset’, as well as its reunion. And it got me thinking…..
WHAT WOMEN (AND MEN) MUST DO IN 2024 AND ONWARD TO ENSURE BETTER WORKING CONDITIONS
It was a big surprise for a lot of people when Michelle Williams was announced as the narrator for Britney Spears’ audio-book, ‘The Woman In Me.’ Williams is a great actress who’s worked her butt off for decades. Sadly she’s mostly known for difficult personal life, specifically her relationship with Heath Ledger and beyond. So it made me think of how us regular women are belittled and diminished and treated less than at work, and I tell you why, how, and what we, as women, as well as men, need to do for this to change.
WOMEN – THE DISGRACED MONEY MAKING MACHINES IN BUSINESS
Britney Spears’ memoir, ‘The Woman In Me’, came out last month, and we learned a lot about the pop star that we never knew before; from her relationships with her family, collaborators, friends like Paris Hilton, and relationships, like the one she had with Justin Timberlake. Her coverage of her relationship with Timberlake got me thinking of of the disgraceful treatment of women in the business. Consider this a continuation of the previous post.
WHAT A COMPANY CULTURE THAT SUPPORTS AND PROTECTS WOMEN LOOKS LIKE
The most recent season of ‘Love Is Blind’ was a complete sh*tshow, and it was evident just by my previous post. But there was a lot more to it, including Renee and Carter’s unreleased storyline. This particular storyline made me reflect on what a company culture that supports and protects women NEEDS to look like. Here, we’ll be talking about sexual assault and abuse, so consider this as a trigger waning.
